Swedish reporter Magnus Falkehed, left and photographer Niclas Hammarstrom, react, after a press conference, at Arlanda Airport north of Stockholm, Sweden, on Jan. 9. The two Swedish journalists, who were captured in Syria in November, were returned to Stockholm on the day after being freed on Jan. 8. The pair were abducted on their way out of Syria and spent a month and a half in captivity. Hammarstrom was shot in the leg in a failed escape attempt. “I was extremely lucky to make it without bleeding to death,” Hammarstrom was quoted as saying.
