MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake boys swimming left little doubt as to who the top team in the Columbia Basin Big 9 was Thursday night.
The Chiefs dominated the second place Wenatchee Panthers, 119-64, to remain undefeated at 6-0.
"We came out knowing this was Wentachee's chance to knock us down and move into a tie for first place," head coach Tony St. Onge said. "So our swimmers and divers started the meet with a fury and kept it up all the way through to the finish."
Moses Lake placed first in all three relays against the Panthers and are currently ranked number one in the state in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1 minute, 31.53 seconds.
Senior Kaelan Connacher and juniors Brenden Eslick and Madison Molitor won two events each. Connacher also qualified for the state championship in the 100-yard back stroke with a time of 56.07 seconds.
Junior Zack Johnston and senior Tristiane Randall won the 200-yard freestyle and diving competition, respectively.
Moses Lake currently has 17 swimmers qualified for the district championship. Connacher, Eslick and Johnston have qualified for the state championship.
