Benedict (Ben) Leason, age 84, resident of Spokane, Washington, died January 11, 2014, at Sullivan Park in Spokane Valley, Washington.
Ben was born January 28, 1929, in Ronneby, Minnesota, to Vince and Tillie (Michalski) Leason. He worked as a Mechanical Supervisor/Car Foreman for the Great Northern Railroad, and later for the Burlington Northern Railroad. Ben was a member of the Post Falls American Legion, Post 143.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evonne Charlene (Bjork) Leason, his parents, five brothers: Vince, Al, Ed, Bud, and Ernie; and four sisters: Clara, Annie, Sammie and Mary.
He is survived by his brother Emil (John) Leason of Sisters, Oregon; two sons: Terry (Debbie) Leason of Valleyford, Washington, and Bruce Leason of Lake Worth, Florida; four daughters: Sue (Gene) Roff of Spokane Valley, Linda (Don) Crum of Spokane, Becky (Wayne) Earling of Hayden, Idaho, and Tammy (Allen) Johnson of Post Falls, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Friday, January 24, 11 a.m., at the English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane Street, Post Falls, Idaho.
