Auditions slated for family drama

The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for the spring production of “Other Desert Cities” on Feb. 2-3 at 7 p.m. at the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.  Please arrive early to the Green Room to fill out an audition application and review the script.

“Other Desert Cities” is a riveting portrait of a prominent family and their very public fall from grace. Brooke Wyeth arrives at her parents' mansion in Palm Springs after a six-year absence  to spend Christmas with her parents, brother, and aunt. But her announcement that her next book, set to publish in a few short months, is actually a tell-all memoir uncovering some carefully concealed family secrets, threatens to rip the clan apart. Called the “best new play on Broadway” by the New York Times, “Other Desert Cities” is funny, fierce, smart and immensely entertaining.

The cast will be composed of three women and two men, ages 20 to 60-plus.  No experience is necessary and no preparation is required for the audition.

Nancy Nei is the director for this production.  Total time commitment for this production is six weeks of rehearsal Monday through Friday from 7 to 10 p.m.  There are seven performances over two weekends on April 3-6 and 11-13.
