PREP BASKETBALL: Charter girls battle Kellogg before falling

KELLOGG - Andee Wendt scored 11 points off the bench to lead the Kellogg Wildcats past the Coeur d'Alene Charter Panthers 51-26 in a nonleague game at Andrews Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
After playing to a 7-7 tie after the first quarter, Kellogg outscored Coeur d'Alene Charter 44-19 in the final three quarters.
"They mixed up their defenses in the first quarter and gave us some different looks that we hadn't seen before," Kellogg coach Eli Bourgard said of Cd'A Charter. "They did a pretty good job of keeping us down offensively. In the second, our defense created some offense for us."
Sarah Haman scored eight points for Coeur d'Alene Charter (6-8), which travels to Orofino on Friday.
McKenna Stewart scored 10 points for Kellogg (8-4), which hosts St. Maries tonight in a makeup game.

Jeremiah Chersin added nine points and 10 rebounds for North Idaho Christian (11-6, 8-2 MCL), which plays host to Christian Center on Saturday at Holy Family Catholic School.
Ty Brearley scored a game-high 23 points for Genesis Prep (6-8, 4-7), which travels to Edwall, Wash., on Thursday to play Christian Heritage.
Brearley had 13 rebounds and three steals and Zach Miles three assists for Genesis Prep.
