Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Ferndale man on Christmas Day for allegedly assaulting his estranged wife.

Chris Vidulich was booked on a preliminary assault charge, according to Lake County dispatch. Undersheriff Dan Yonkin said Vidulich had been released. Valori Vidulich called around 5 p.m. that day to report that someone broke into her house and fired shots in the 29000 block of Songbird Lane. The gunshots did not hit anyone, she said.

Chris Vidulich allegedly broke down the front door, grabbed a gun and fired shots, according to the dispatch report.

Valori Vidulich told dispatch that she had her husband served with divorce papers Dec. 20.
