McEuen progress update from City Hall
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 12 months AGO
The city of Coeur d'Alene has released the following update on the progress of the McEuen Park Park Project.
Crews next week will begin pouring the last section of sidewalk on the north side of Front Avenue between Fifth and Sixth streets. The work is expected to take 2-3 weeks. When complete, detour fencing along that block-long stretch of sidewalk will be removed, improving pedestrian flow.
McEuen Park itself is also taking shape, contractors and city officials said during a weekly park update on Wednesday.
Large colorful water features for the interactive splash pad will soon be installed. When complete, the splash pad will boast more than a dozen spouting ornaments and be the largest aqua play area in the city.
Through the winter months, construction is also proceeding on the Grand Plaza, Pavilion, and Harbor House.
As work progresses, the public can expect intermittent closures of Front Avenue as crews work on improvements to the parking structure and the park itself. The city will provide public notification on these closures as early as possible.
Meanwhile, officials remind the public that as inviting as McEuen Park is looking, it is still closed to the public. The city is anticipating a completion date in May.
