Goldie Elaine Irwin

Goldie Elaine Irwin entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on December 28, in Ronan at age 84.  A daughter of the late Lyle and Vi Irwin of North Crow, she is survived by sisters Hazel (Arnold) Steinert and Vivian (Francis) McGeaughay of Ronan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Miss Irwin began her career in elementary education at a rural two-room school in eastern Montana then taught English classes at the Evangelical United Brethren Mission at Alcalde, N.M. She returned to Montana and began at Round Butte School in 1952 through 1969. She continued for over three decades with school years at Ronan and Pablo schools, retiring in 1986.

She was a content contributor to the recently published Lake County School History. Goldie loved God with all her heart and was heavily involved in her church for as long as she was able.

A memorial service to celebrate her life is planned at 3 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the Ronan Alliance Church on Terrace Lake Road.
