A Kalispell man already accused of pointing a rifle at a woman in his home has now pleaded not guilty to molesting a 4-year-old girl.

Andrew Aloysious Vaile Jr., 25, entered the plea to felony sexual intercourse without consent Thursday in Flathead District Court.

According to a court document, a Missoula nurse contacted Kalispell police after learning of the sexual abuse during a forensic interview with the child, who had told an adult about what happened.

Vaile previously pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of assault with a weapon.

A document in that case alleges he pulled a rifle on a woman who had stopped by his home to retrieve her belongings, cocking the firearm and telling her to “get the [expletive] out of this house right now.” Several witnesses reportedly confirmed the story.

Vaile allegedly denied ever possessing a firearm in the first place before changing his story and admitting he was holding a rifle while arguing with the woman.

If convicted of both charges, Vaile faces up to 120 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.

He is currently incarcerated in the Flathead County Detention Center, where his bond in the rifle and molestation cases are set at $20,000 and $75,000, while his next hearings in the cases are set for March 19 and March 5, respectively.
