New record at Whiteout ski mountaineering race

Eric Carter set a new Whitefish Whiteout record with a sub-28 minute ascent of Big Mountain en route to winning the race division of the annual ski mountaineering race Saturday at Whitefish Mountain Resort.
Carter, of Vancourver, B.C., climbed the Toni Matt route up Big Mountain in 27:52 and held off reigning Whiteout champion Ben Parsons at the finish line. Carter clocked a 1:26:30, just four seconds ahead of Parsons.
Marg Fedyna was the fastest woman in the race division with a 1:53:43. She climbed the Toni Matt route in 32:45.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue
