MatCats pound Bulldogs, end regular season this week

The Columbia Falls wrestling squad pounded the Bulldogs in Whitefish last week, 56-16.
Hunter Peterson (120), Wyatt Green (132) and Cody Walters (160) all won by pin.
The Bulldogs gave up five forfeits in the lopsided Jan. 23 match.
The MatCats wrap up their regular season on Friday with dual meets against Frenchtown and Polson. The Polson dual starts at 4 p.m. and Frenchtown dual starts at 7 p.m.
Both matches are a bit of a preview for the divisional tournament, which will be hosted by Libby on Saturday, Feb. 8. The MatCats, currently ranked fourth in the state, are favored to win the tourney.

With continued cold weather, the potential for flooding by area rivers and streams has increased, the National Weather Service warned last week.
Search suspended for missing skiers
The search in Grand Teton National Park for two men with ties in the Flathead has been suspended because of inclement weather. The men are believed to be lost in an avalanche.
