GOP: Cleaning plates of the poor
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 3 months AGO
“Just keep voting Republican, no matter what they do in Boise.”
I am amazed at the boldness of Butch Otter’s proposal to eliminate the “Grocery Tax Credit,” and then use that money to fund a tax rate cut that mostly goes to the rich and corporations. Somehow they know they can pull the wool over the eyes of the typical Republican voter.
This latest proposal will literally take $180 to $220 off the refund that every taxpaying resident in Idaho was going to get, and then allow that amount to be a tax deduction (only for those who itemize), which will be worth about $10 in savings.
Then, as proposed, by cutting the tax rate by one-half percent, the average family will save about $40, except for the rich and corporations, who will be partying at the country club. If you are a millionaire, you will save thousands. Wow what a surprise!
Of course, once again they will tell you, “When you give more money to rich people and corporations, they will hire people they DON’T need!”
Just keep voting Republican, no matter what.
