COEUR d'ALENE - The investigation into a cyber attack at URM-served grocery stores that led to widespread card fraud is nearly completed, according to URM CEO Ray Sprinkle.

In an announcement posted on the URM website Thursday, Sprinkle said the company now knows exactly which stores were affected by the attack.

Those stores include Super 1 Foods in Hayden, Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene as well as Miller's Harvest Foods in Spirit Lake.

The breach of security was limited to credit and debit card transactions that occurred between Sept. 1 and Nov. 24.

According to the announcement, the attacker was able to access card account numbers, expiration dates and card verification numbers.

Sprinkle suggested that if customers see a fraudulent charge on their card, they immediately contact the bank that issued that card.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause," Sprinkle wrote. "Keeping customer information secure is a top priority at URM and our member stores, and we will continue to work to make our network more secure."

URM has created a call center with the sole purpose of fielding customer questions about the cyber attack. Sprinkle encouraged customers to call 1-877-237-7408 to learn more about what steps to take to protect their banking information.
