COEUR d'ALENE - Since snowfall began hitting Coeur d'Alene Wednesday morning, there have been more than 30 accidents and slide-offs reported in town.
As of 4 p.m. Thursday, the Coeur d'Alene Police Department had responded to 36 reports of accidents due to winter driving conditions.
"City crews are busy clearing roadways and keeping the main arterials clear for safe travel," Sgt. Christie Wood said. "Motorists are reminded to slow their speed due to icy winter conditions."
Wood added that motorists should also be on the lookout for children and residents walking on the streets and to adjust their driving accordingly.
"We want everyone to make it to their destination safely," Wood said.
