Eat spaghetti for a good cause

COEUR d'ALENE - Believe it or not, life will continue after Super Bowl Sunday. In fact, a fabulous fundraiser will take place the following Sunday, Feb. 9.
From 4 to 7 p.m. at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, recent college graduate Alycia Barrowcliff has organized a spaghetti feed and auction to raise money for the Miller Home at Children's Village. The Miller Home once helped children with severe emotional and behavioral disorders, but because of funding cuts, it has been closed for several years. Barrowcliff, a Children's Village volunteer, wants to change that.
Proceeds from the Feb. 9 fundraiser will go toward reopening the Miller Home, she said. On Wednesday, Barrowcliff said about 125 tickets had been sold, and she would like to double that number.
In addition to a fine meal and live music, a silent auction with roughly 25 items and a live auction with about 12 items will be part of the festivities.
"Between music and food and good people, I think it'll be a great time," Barrowcliff said.
Duane and Lola Hagadone, who have been mentors and friends to Barrowcliff, have pledged to match whatever money she can raise.
Tickets are $25 and are available:
* At The Resort's concierge desk
* At Northwest Tile & Floors, 3900 N. Schreiber Way in Coeur d'Alene (665-2121)
* By calling Barrowcliff (691-7725) or Deborah Miranda (818-0612).
