The annual Spokane/Coeur d'Alene American Legion baseball Fourth of July Wood Bat Classic begins today, with games scheduled for Thorco Field in Coeur d'Alene, as well as Post Falls High.

Playing in the Thorco Field Pod are the host Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen, GP Battlecats from Maltby, Wash., Gallitin Valley Outlaws of Manhatten, Mont., INBA Padres, a men's team from Spokane, Spirit Lake and Tri County Outlaws of Hermiston, Ore.

The host Prairie Cardinals will play in the Post Falls Pod, along with the Sandpoint Lakers, Idaho Falls Bandits, Saint Albert (Alberta) Cardinals and the Spokane Cannons.

Semifinal games will be played on Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11:30 at Jackson Field in Spokane, with the championship game scheduled for 2 p.m.
