SANDPOINT — The deadline to register for the auction of Idaho Club parcels is looming.

Bidders must register with the Bonner Country Treasurer’s Office no later than 10 a.m. on Tuesday in order to participate in the auction.

The auction is set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bonner County Administration Building.

Bidder deposits — in the form of cash, cashier’s check or wire transfer — must also be received 24 hours prior to Wednesday’s auction.

The county took possession of the Idaho Club’s undeveloped parcels and golf course due to unpaid taxes, late fees and interest.

The auction will be split into three phases because three entities used to own the lots.

Pend Oreille Bonner Development has more than 170 parcels, while GNP-IC LLC had 23 parcels and Eagle Pointe Construction had one.

Pend Oreille Bonner Development had 176 lots on the north and south sides of Highway 200, although the club’s original developer, Jim Berry of JV LLC, redeemed four parcels and a portion of the golf course on south side of the highway, Treasurer Cheryl Piehl said.

However, JV LLC’s redemption only removes the county’s interest in those properties, which revert back to the original ownership of Pend Oreille Bonner Development, according to Piehl.

“JV LLC will still have to foreclose or acquire title in another manner,” Piehl said.

The minimum bid for the remaining Pend Oreille Bonner Development parcels is $1.6 million. The minimum bids for the GNP-IC LLC parcels and Eagle Pointe Construction are, $238,027 and $9,762, respectively.

The minimum bids are expected to increase because costs continue to accrue until the sale closes.

An updated map depicting the parcels to be auctioned cab be found the treasurer’s office website (http://bonnercounty.us/treasurer/). Terms of sale, planning and surety agreements are also posted to the site.
