A teen accused of murdering his father and brother was moved from juvenile detention back to the Kootenai County Public Safety Building on Friday.

Eldon Gale Samuel III, 14, who is being tried as an adult on first and second degree murder charges, spent the first two months of his incarceration in the adult facility. On May 19, Kootenai County District Court Judge Eugene Marano signed an order allowing Samuel to be held at the facility for juvenile offenders.

In a July 2 memorandum decision, Judge Benjamin Simpson wrote that "the court is unable to find good cause which would allow the defendant to be held at the Juvenile Detention Center."

The ruling came after Simpson heard testimony on Wednesday from Kootenai County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Tom Stengland and Linda Hoss, who manages operations at the juvenile facility.
