SANDPOINT — Counsel for a Washington state man accused arranging a sexual liaison with a fictitious underage girl in Bonner County is moving to have the case against his client dismissed.
Public Defender Dan Taylor argues that Edward Nicholas Bursiel entrapped by a sheriff’s detective, according to documents.
The defense motion is slated to be heard on July 8 in 1st District Court.
Bursiel, a 46-year-old from Spokane Valley, is accused using the online classified advertising website craigslist to find a sex partner and that age was no barrier. A detective noticed the ad and posed as a 14-year-old girl in a series of email exchanges in April.
