City seeks downtown amenities

SANDPOINT — The downtown could be sporting some new benches and other amenities if the Sandpoint Urban Renewal Agency partners with the city on funding.

With city officials eyeing the next round of renovations as dictated by the Sandpoint Downtown Streets Guide, Public Works Director Kody Van Dyk received council approval to request funding from SURA for the two projects. If SURA members approve the proposal, the way will be cleared to install new downtown amenities and begin frontage improvements to Church Street.
