Summer concerts

The Columbia Falls Lions Club summer concert series continues Thursday, July 3, at Marantette Park with Pizzazz Jazz and the Great Pretenders vocal quartets teaming up. The concert will start at 7 p.m. Donations are $3 for an individual, $5 for families. Next week’s music will be provided by the Don Lawrence Orchestra.

Farmers market

Lonesome Ridge will be the featured band at the Columbia Falls Farmers Market, held at Pinewood Park next to the City Pool on Thursday, July 10, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The Thursday markets host local vendors offering fresh produce, baked items, crafts, arts and various eats and treats. Dan Dubuque will be the featured performer on July17.

Open burning

The open burning season in the Flathead Valley ended June 30. No open burning is allowed until October. Firefighters will respond to reports of illegal burning. For more information, call the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation at 751-2270.

Pastor honored

A celebration will take place for the recent ordination of pastor Debra Wacker of the Columbia Falls United Methodist Church, with a presentation and service at the church on Sunday, July 13, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and a potluck picnic with cake and ice cream at noon. People are asked to bring a dish to share.

Class reunion

The Columbia Falls High School Class of 1954 will hold its 60th reunion at the home of Buck and Ruthee Smith Chapman, 1985 Highway 206, on Saturday, July 19, starting at 5 p.m. Ham and chicken will be furnished by the Chapmans, the rest is up to everyone. For more information, call 892-5945.

Classic cars

The sixth annual Glacier Rally in the Rockies car show will take place in downtown Kalispell on Friday and Saturday, July 18-19, as a fundraiser for Flathead CARE. The weekend will take off with a show and shine on Friday at Kalispell’s Dairy Queen from 6-8 p.m. followed by an American Graffiti-style “Cruise the Drag” up and down Main Street from 8-10 p.m. The main parade will take place on Main Street on Saturday, July 19, beginning at 10 a.m. Classic vehicles and motorcycles will park on First Avenue West and in parking lots between Center and Third streets.
