North Korea again fires into water

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A South Korean military official says North Korea has launched two projectiles into its eastern waters in an apparent continuation of a recent series of missile and artillery test launches.
The official says the launch Wednesday morning was presumed to be of Scud missiles, but had no other details. The official asked for anonymity because of department rules.
North Korea has test-fired missiles and rockets since earlier this year, including launches before Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent visit to South Korea. Analysts say the recent tests were a protest against Xi becoming Beijing’s first leader to come to the South before the North. Pyongyang is also angry over U.S.-South Korean military drills.
The two Koreas remain divided along the world’s most heavily fortified border.
