Open burning closed as July heats up

As of July 1, 2014, open burning will be closed until Oct. 1, 2014. Recreational campfires will be allowed. They must be no bigger than 4’ x 4’ x 4’ and in a fire ring.
The Bigfork Fire Department will be hosting their annual 4th of July barbeque. Please stop by for a hot dog, chips and a water. Stop by the hall and purchase a 4th of July T-Shirt.
During hot weather approaching, make sure to hydrate especially if you are doing strenuous work. Wear light color clothing.
4th of July is a time to celebrate. Please be careful using fireworks. Be courteous to your neighbors and their pets. Make sure there is proper supervision and you have a bucket of water available for discarded fireworks.
For the month of June, Bigfork Fire Department responded to fifty-two (52) incidents: Building fire (3), Forest woods or wild land fire (1), Emergency medical service (1), EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury (36), Vehicle accident with injuries (2), Motor vehicle accident with no injuries (1), Gas leak (natural or LPG) (2), Power line down (2), Accident, potential accident (1) dispatched and canceled en route (2), Smoke detector activation –no fire (1).
