The body of Shannon Turner of Lake County, who was reported missing last week, was found Tuesday evening in southern Flathead County.
Turner, 40, was reported missing by her husband.
At about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from a citizen that led authorities to Turner’s maroon Chevy Uplander. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to confirm the vehicle was Turner’s.
Human remains were found inside the vehicle and later were positively identified as Turner. An investigation into the death will be conducted by the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
No foul play or cause of death is mentioned in the report, and Lake County officials believe that Turner left on her own free will.
