‘Different Drummers’
Stadium 14 Theatres, Kalispell, Monday, July 14, 6:30 p.m.
The family film will be shown as a fundraiser for the Evergreen Wrestling Club.
“Different Drummers” is a family film based on a true story about the unusual spiritual journey and unlikely friendship of two boys growing up in Spokane in the mid 1960s —11-year-old David, wheelchair-bound by muscular dystrophy and his friend Lyle, who struggles with with an increasingly high, and seemingly uncontrollable energy level.
Evergreen Wrestling Club head coach Dave Caron has a special family connection to the film, which won awards for Best Family Film and Best Young Actor at the 2013 Houston WorldFest International Film Festival. His brother Don Caron of Spokane is the co-writer and co-director.

Pints for Paths
Heaven’s Peak Lodge, West Glacier, Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m.
Shakewell from Missoula will be playing funk, pop and rock for the Gateway to Glacier Trail project’s brewfest fundraiser. The celebration is a benefit toward the completion of the bike and pedestrian path from Columbia Falls to Glacier National Park, which will be a 20-mile long stretch when completed.
The event will feature beers from more than a dozen local Montana and regional breweries, and other local bluegrass and folk musicians plus food vendors will be on hand.
Tickets are $15 for presale and are available at www.gatewaytoglaciertrail.com, West Glacier Bar, Stonefly Lounge in Coram, Hungry Horse Liquor Store, and Freedom Bank in Columbia Falls. Tickets are $20 at the gate. Heaven’s Peak Lodge is at 12130 U.S. 2 in West Glacier.
‘Amelia Earhart’
John Dowdall Theatre, Polson
The drama “Amelia Earhart” starts off the Port Polson Players summer season. The show features historical footage and stills along with the live performance at the John Dowdall Theatre on Flathead Lake. The mystery is laced with romance and new evidence of the famous aviator’s whereabouts.
The show runs five days a week through July 20, with curtain time at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sundays.

‘Guys & Dolls’ and ‘Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’
Whitefish Performing Arts Center, Alpine Theatre Project, all shows at 8 p.m.
Alpine Theatre Project offers its 10th summer season, which will be a repertory schedule for the first time ever this year. “Guys & Dolls” opens on Friday, with shows also on July 17, 19, 23, 26 and 30. Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces a cast of vivid characters.
On Saturday, “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” opens. Shows continue on July 16, 18, 24 and Aug. 1. Mark Twain's timeless classic sweeps us down the mighty Mississippi as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend Jim, a slave, escape to freedom at the mouth of the Ohio River. The show is propelled by an award-winning score from Roger Miller.
