BILLINGS — A 3-year-old Billings girl died and four others suffered burns when the car they were traveling in caught fire on Interstate 90 between Big Timber and Livingston.
The Montana Highway Patrol says two Billings families were traveling together at about 6 p.m. Wednesday when someone in the second car saw fluid leaking from the lead car and radioed for the driver to pull over. Soon after, the car caught fire.
Four people were able to get out of the car, but suffered burns and were taken to area hospitals. Trooper Eric Fetterhoff said they couldn’t get the 3-year-old out of her car seat. The Park County coroner tells KULR-TV the victim’s name is Zaria Rey Santos.
The fire is still being investigated.
