Our society has a skewed view of racism and violence

Steve Utash, a 54-year-old tree trimmer, father and grandfather, was driving down a Detroit street when a 10-year-old child ran into the busy traffic and was struck by his pickup truck.
The man jumped from his vehicle to render aid and was immediately surrounded by an angry mob who beat him repeatedly. Only one of the 30-or-so people, a retired nurse, spoke up on his behalf and finally stopped the angry mob after they had caused grievous injury.
Mr. Utash had to be placed in a medically induced coma for severe head injuries with bleeding and then began a slow recovery in a rehabilitation facility. The child suffered a broken leg.
Terrible, you say, I hope they put these thugs in jail! The problem is Utash is white and the mob who beat him senseless was black. I am delighted to hear that some of the clergy in Detroit did speak out against the brutes who beat up this poor innocent man and tried to raise money for his medical care. But do we see Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton leading a march, screaming about the evils of racism? Do we see Eric Holder talking about prosecuting the perpetrators for a hate crime? Has Obama wished the victim well or decried the evil of this act as he was so quick to do when a “half-white” shot Trayvon Martin or when he accused Cambridge police of “acting stupidly” for questioning a black Harvard professor who was reported by a neighbor as appearing to break into his own home? Of course not. Both of these “victims” were black.
Unfortunately, black on white crime has increased significantly since 2000 according to Colin Flaherty author of “White Girl Bleed a Lot.” Flaherty punctuates his narrative with scan codes that allow your smartphone to play dozens of videos of filmed incidents and news reports of black-on-white violence in the form of knockout games (where one person tries to knock out an unsuspecting pedestrian with a single blow), flash mobs (where dozens to a thousand youths roam a neighborhood severely beating anyone they encounter) and flash robs (where gangs of youths rob stores — anywhere in size from a small convenience store to a major department store).
To the detractors (and there are many) Colin Flaherty is a racist. Sound familiar? Like the liberals in Washington, D.C.? Unfortunately for his critics, in addition to the videos, he also has nearly 40 pages of references to document this detailed reporting of dozens of incidents occurring across the country in small cities (Peoria, Des Moines, Milwaukee) and large (New York, Chicago, Los Angeles). He also has the support of some conservative voices in the black community, such as Thomas Sowell and Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, as well as consumer advocate David Horowitz.
I bet if Steve Utash had driven away from the scene for fear of the very beating that he suffered rather than stop and render aid, we would have heard from all four of the above leaders of the black community. But since this is a black-on-white crime, and racism as defined by black community leaders like Sharpton and Jackson and Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama can only be against a minority, not much will be done.
Any white-on-black crime is trumpeted as racism and a hate crime, but NO black-on-white crime can be due to racism by definition. Blacks can’t be racist... just ask Sharpton, Jackson, Holder or Obama.

Inter Lake too tough on Zinke?
I am not for wasteful government spending, but does the Daily Inter Lake need to parrot the Associated Press’s repeated assaults on Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke’s air transportation spending ... and putting this garbage on the front page? After the liberal media got rid of HHS secretary Tom Price for using excessive charter flights, I’m sure they figure this is a way to get rid of most of the president’s Cabinet, not that any Democrats ever abused this privilege!
Was Obama team working to undermine Trump transition?
WOW! Can this piece-of-work we call the Congress and the drive-by media be any more pathetically one sided? Can their emphasis on character assassination and process overshadow the truth any more than they have obfuscated the truth thus far?
Creative problem-solving needed in Glacier Park
So Glacier National Park is considering a “one car in, one car out” policy at venues on dead-end roads such as Bowman Lake due to overcrowded parking causing a “safety issue.” I wonder how often emergency vehicles have had a problem getting to where they were needed at the lake. Not to mention that it seems to me a helicopter would be more useful in providing timely intervention and not be affected by overcrowded parking. My guess is that there are fewer than 50 parking spaces (excluding the campground itself) for the whole site, including people parking for multi-day backcountry hiking.
