Crash spills trailer full of logs on road

A loaded logging truck rolled on its side Wednesday morning on the West Side Reservoir Road, dumping logs into a roadside ditch.
Driver Terrell Thomas, who works for Kalispell’s All Terrain Trucking, was cited for careless driving. He sustained minor injuries but declined medical assistance.
The truck cab and a log trailer tipped; one log trailer remained upright on the road.
The accident occurred near Lost Johnny Point along Hungry Horse Reservoir.
According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jerril Ren, the truck was taking a corner too fast and the right tire of the truck caught the edge of the roadway.
“He was heading northbound, and so he started into a left-hand curve and he’s going a little too fast,” Ren said. “As he’s making the curve, the truck starts to tip and one of the tires rolled up on its side. The bead on the tire probably pops and the wheel catches the asphalt, and that causes the trailer to start to tip over, then pulling the rest of the truck over with it.”
Ren said that the truck rolled away from the roadway so it didn’t cause major traffic issues.
Members of the Hungry Horse and Martin City fire departments also responded to the scene.
