Shadow finish strong, capture soccer league title

SPOKANE - The Spokane Shadow scored all three of its goals in the second half to beat Wenatchee United 3-0 on Sunday at Spokane Falls Community College to win the Evergreen Premier League men's soccer title.

Spokane, which was unbeaten (10-0-2) in its last 12 games, finished 10-2-2 for 32 points. South Sound, which beat Vancouver 2-0 earlier Sunday to temporarily move into first place, finished 10-3-1 for 31 points.

Sam Engle scored in the 50th and 56th minutes for Spokane. Mike Ramos assisted on both goals, and scored in the 66th minute.

Former Coeur d'Alene High star Graison Le, now at Gonzaga; Timmy Mueller, the former Post Falls High star now at Oregon State, and Adam Talley of North Idaho College played key roles for the Shadow down the stretch.
