Anne Nelner Brown, 88, passed away on July 19, 2014, of natural causes.
She was born Anna Maria Moll on March 31, 1926, in a small village near Vienna, Austria. In 1927, Anne and her family immigrated to Magrath, Alberta, where she spent her youth on the family farm.
She later worked as an elementary teacher in Drumheller, Alberta, before marrying Edwin Nelner and moving to Kalispell where they raised their family.
Anne was an avid golfer and loved a good game of bridge. One of her favorite places was the cabin on little Bitterroot Lake where the family spent most summers and vacations.
Ed preceded her in death in 1989.
Anne married longtime friend Harry Brown in 1990. They spent 18 years traveling between Arizona, Alberta and Montana, playing cribbage at the lake and spending time with family. Harry preceded her in death in 2009.
Anne was also preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Hertha Wynnechuk.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet and Paul Mullis of Kalispell, and Barbara and Bill Burton of Montana City; and grandchildren, Marci (Mullis) and Billy Whitehurst of Buehl, Idaho, Dan Mullis, Krista (Burton) and Julian Nolen of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jake Burton of Helena; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on July 28 in the Buffalo Room at Buffalo Hills Terrace.
