MOSES LAKE - "Go, go, go!"
"You can do it!"
"You're almost there!"
Words of encouragement could be heard echoing from the Surf 'n' Slide water park as the Moses Lake Manta Rays hosted the annual Sizzlin' Summer swim meet.
Teams from across Washington and British Columbia participated in the three-day meet.
Tents lined the edges of the pool as competitors and supporters bustled about the deck in between races.
Outside, the parking lots surrounding McCosh Park and the field behind Frontier Middle School was filled with RVs and cars full of swim enthusiasts.
Zachary Washburn, of the Manta Rays, was the high point winner for the boys 10-11 age group. His teammate Anthony Alvarez was the high point winner for the boys 8 and under age group.
Supportive messages known as "shout outs" were announced throughout each day's events.
The Manta Rays will compete at the IE Champs meet in the Tri-Cities July 26 through 28.
Sr. Zones begin Aug. 1 in Clovis, Calif. with Age Group Zones following the week after in Roseville, Calif.
