Ryggs Johnston displayed his collection of trophies and awards he won as a Hoop Shooter for Libby Elks Lodge 2231 at the annual Elks Scholarship Golf Tournament July 19.

Ryggs went to the national finals in Springfield, Mass., twice during his career where he placed second and third.

In order to advance to the nationals, Ryggs had to win at the local, district, state, and regional shoots. He turned 14 this year, meaning he cannot compete anymore.

The Elks Hoop Shoot is the largest youth sports event in the U.S. with over one million boys and girls competing every year.

Ryggs and his partner Joe Cielak won low gross in the Elks Tournament. Matt Hollingsworth and Aaron Oedewalt won low net. The tournament raises funds for scholarships for seniors at the high schools in Lincoln County.
