Paris comes to North Idaho

Unique items for women and children are featured at Paris in Bleu boutique and doll shop in Hayden Creek Plaza at 8206 Government Way (next to the Just Because store).

The store includes a European selection of dolls and wooden toys, luxury skincare, organic apparel and special candy. Manager Lindsay Michelle said she developed a passion for things European and luxury while director of facilities for a world-class, five-star hotel resort.

Undercuts Salon opens in Post Falls

Five stations with experienced stylists and $5 haircuts for this grand-opening week are offered at Undercuts Salon in Suite 106 in the Plaza at Post Falls, 740 N. Cecil Road (between Trader Tots and Top This Frozen Yogurt).

Included are $10 haircuts, $5 buzzcuts, facial waxing for $8 and free buzzcuts for medical hair-loss patrons. Back-to-school haircuts for $8 are offered for kids during August, and perms and colors will be added in September.

The staff includes owner Yvette Serrano, coming from Shear Madness, Katrina Cline, Holly Reems and Nichole Cronin. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 to 3 Saturdays. No appointments needed. Phone 597-7099.

Galaxy Gaming opens Friday

Computers, console stations and tabletop games are offered for kids at Galaxy Gaming Northwest at 2506 N. Fourth St. Young people can play on their own and with friends.

Concessions and birthday packages are available. Hours are noon to midnight weekdays and until 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Key people are Alex Martin and Jace Robins.

Kyle Rutley Fitness downtown

Personal and relational training, classes and therapy are offered at Kyle Rutley Fitness. The facility opened Saturday in the lower level at 315 Sherman Ave. and will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, Aug. 9.

The facility offers professional personal training (partner and one-on-one), triathlon coaching, nutrition, life and wellness coaching, massage therapy and myofascal release treatments, group fitness classes, dynamic alignment yoga, pilates, X-Fit, senior fitness and core classes, educational lectures, tailored meal plans, workout plans, endurance training programs and swim-bike-ski video analysis.

Owner Kyle Rutley said the focus is using one's own bodyweight and weights to accomplish stamina, weight loss, strength, endurance and results. Other key people are Jennifer Van Cott, Dr. Brent Hirschi, Clark Kar, Julie McKearn, David Montie and Bri Joseph. Phone 699-3873.

- Here our city has a French name based on how French traders regarded their Native American counterparts (shrewd) and yet in town we have no French or Native American eating establishments.

- One souvenir that would sell are small model (toy) cruise boats or tugboats with "Lake Coeur d'Alene" printed on them.
