ROYAL CITY - Royal Golf Course Pro Randy Puetz reminds all golfers that the annual Dog Days of Summer tournament is less than a month away.

"It's a very popular format," Puetz said. "Bring your friends to this one. Men, Women, Juniors are all welcome."

Dog Days of summer is a 2-person scramble. Both players play every shot from tee to green. Each time, they select the best of the two shots and continue.

Dog Days of Summer will be played on Saturday, August 16, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Hopefully, Puetz said, players will be able to avoid the heat of the day.

The entry fee will be $50 per team and will cover green fees. Riding carts will be will be available, but they are limited in number and are not covered by the entry fee. Call ahead to reserve one.

"Handicaps are not needed," Puetz said. "There will be lots of prizes and a honey pot."
