Giving 'doing shots' a new meaning

Whitefish Police got a report Sunday about a group of people who were shooting a gun at beer cans in an unsafe manner on Nelson Lane. It turned out they were shooting a BB gun at beer cans as part of a beer drinking game.

Early Monday, at about 2:15 a.m., there was a report of an intoxicated pedestrian stumbling around on Baker Avenue.

A man calling from Lupfer Avenue reported he had been beaten up by another man. It turned out to be a verbal dispute between three people who all went their own way.

 

A woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Sunday to report that her ex came into her residence on Montana 206 and assaulted her and her mother before taking her mother’s purse and vehicle. The woman said she has a restraining order against the man, who was recently released from prison.

A woman reported that $900 in cash was stolen from her residence on East Evergreen Drive.

A woman called from a laundry business on Montana 35 in Bigfork because she couldn’t get a washing machine turned off, and she wanted her clothes out so she could go home. She was counseled on improper use of 911.

A man calling from Meadow Lake Drive reported that his soon-to-be-ex-wife is threatening to beat him and his girlfriend up.

A woman chased off a man who entered her bedroom on Meadow Lake Drive. The man apparently has a history of stalking people.

There was a report of a highly intoxicated man squirting passing motorists with a squirt gun on Montana 83 near Bigfork.

A man calling from Montana 35 in Evergreen reported that his drunk neighbors egged a door and window on his residence.

A man calling from Peaceful Drive near Bigfork said a friend asked him to pick up and when he showed up to do so he was chased off by a man with a crow bar. The reporting party claimed the woman was being held against her will.

Early Monday, at about 5 a.m., there was a report of an intoxicated man stumbling into traffic on Blanchard Lake Road near Whitefish.

 

Kalispell Police got a report Saturday about an intoxicated disorderly woman jumping out of a tow truck on West Idaho Street. She and her vehicle were getting a lift home after a day at Foy’s Lake.

There was a report of a purse, a checkbook, binoculars and other items being stolen from an unlocked vehicle on 14th Street East.

A woman reported that a storage unit had been broken into on Airport Road, but it was unclear if anything was stolen.

There was a report of an intoxicated man being belligerent around the concessions stand at the Woodland Park softball complex. The man was told to leave and not return.

Someone was cited for shoplifting at a store on First Avenue East North.

After a traffic stop  on West Montana Street, a man was arrested for drunk driving and on warrants.

A bartender calling from an Airport Road bar requested assistance with a man who was trying to start fights. The man left before police arrived.

A woman calling from Rose Crossing said she was punched in the eye and shoved out of a vehicle by a man after she tried to stop him from driving.

An employee at a store on First Avenue East North reported catching a man shoplifting. The man was temporarily restrained on the ground, but he got away.

Early Sunday, at about 2 a.m., there was a report of several people fighting at a bar on U.S. 93 South.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a residence on Glenwood Drive.

A man calling from U.S. 93 South reported that someone damaged his vehicle during an attempted break-in.

A man calling from North Meridian Road said he was dying because of high blood pressure, and that he was intoxicated. He ended up getting arrested on a warrant out of Washington.

After a woman refused to let a man into an apartment on Two Mile Drive, the man crawled on the roof of the apartments in an attempt to get in. The man was advised that he has warrants, and that he should discontinue his attempts to enter the apartment.

A Greatview Drive resident reported that a neighbor stole about 300 gallons of water from the reporting party in order to fill a pool.

There was a report of someone shoplifting hundreds of dollars in merchandise from a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A woman got merchandise from a store on East Idaho Street, said she was going to her car to get money but then left on foot. She was later located and made arrangements with the store manager to pay up.

Two teenage girls were detained for violating rules at Lawrence Park, and an adult male for possession of drugs. The girls were released to their parents.

Early Monday, at about 3:40 a.m., a man calling from North Meridian Road reported that a man dressed in black had attempted to climb onto a neighbor’s apartment balcony. One of the men was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

 

After a non-injury motor vehicle accident on Ninth Street West, Columbia Falls Police arrested a man for drunk driving Sunday.

Customers at a store on Ninth Street West were alarmed about three children who were left in a vehicle with the windows up in the parking lot. At one point, customers wanted to break a window on the vehicle to help the kids, who were screaming and crying. Eventually, the female driver returned and left with the kids.

A woman reported that she caught a man attempting to break into her vehicle on 10th Street West. When she confronted him, he ran off.

A woman reported that her vehicle was stolen from a location on Nucleus Avenue.

 

The Montana Highway Patrol responded to an accident on U.S. 2 near West Valley Drive Monday afternoon involving a semi truck and a sports utility vehicle. The patrol put out an advisory stating that both lanes of traffic were blocked and estimated the highway would be closed up to 45 minutes.
