Keep an eye open for purse near road

A 15-year-old girl drove away with her purse on top of her vehicle Monday. Her mother called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to inform them. The girl, who left her home on Ridgewood Drive, wasn’t sure where it fell off. If you find the purse, call the sheriff’s office. 

Windows were jimmied at a home on Aspen Court. It appeared no one was able to enter the home, but the window screen was damaged. 

A woman called police from her home on Patrick Creek Road to report that her cats had been shot by a small-caliber gun. One of the cats was dead and she had already buried it, but said it had two small puncture wounds across its back that she believed had been caused by a gunshot. A second cat was limping, but she was unable to catch it. She told officers she’d inform them of the second cat’s condition when she caught it. 

A Bigfork man reported that his truck was broken into on Friday and some very expensive fly-fishing equipment was taken. 

A woman called police from Dawn Drive saying she needed her vehicle inspected because it doesn’t run. She was informed that deputies don’t respond to those types of calls. 

A man called to say a process server has been harassing him and repeatedly leaving threatening messages on his phone. He said that the process server also goes on to his property and peeks in his windows. 

A man called from Somers to talk to law enforcement about a woman who had been stalking him that he believed had now poisoned him. He said he’d been in contact with a victim’s advocate for several months and told dispatch that he had a two-hour long story to tell and would like a deputy who has the time to talk to him and his advocate. 

A Marion woman who owns a feed supply reported that she signed a contract with an out-of-state man who was supposed to supply hay to a location in Reno, Nevada. The woman reported that the hay never arrived and the man has not refunded her money. 

A man made threats while complaining at a local health center Monday. When officers contacted the suspect, he said he made the threats on purpose to “try and stir up the doctors to get his prescriptions and care correct.” He was advised that was not the best idea, because the center could deny him service and/or charge him for the threats. The man stated he had since talked to the Kalispell Police Department and the doctor’s office and apologized to everyone. 

A man walking with two children stole the tip jar from a coffee stand on U.S. 2 East. 

A man who lives on Crossbow Trail reported his neighbor for shooting large-caliber guns after a bullet came toward his house. The neighbor reportedly told the caller that “he can do anything he wants on his property.” 


The Whitefish Police Department responded to a pet custody issue on Waverly Place when a man tried to pick up his pit bull from his ex-girlfriend. She wouldn’t let him have the dog. Both parties were counseled and will try to work out a custody agreement. 

A man on Kalispell Avenue claimed that his girlfriend burglarized his house, stealing his TV and “a bunch of other stuff.” 

Someone found a machete near the riverbank on Birch Point Drive. 


Columbia Falls police assisted a panicked parent when a woman called to report her 4-year-old daughter missing Monday. The mom had checked all of the little girl’s hiding spots. The girl was missing for about 15 minutes before her mother found her safe. 


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on possession of dangerous drug charges Monday on Adams Street and U.S. 93.
