Community meetings planned

 Community Action Partnership of Northwest Montana will hold eight community meetings in Northwest Montana to gather information for its strategic planning process. 

These meetings will give local community members, business owners, nonprofits and public officials the chance to share information about the needs they see in their communities.

Kalispell — 5 to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 19, Kalispell Chamber of Commerce, 15 Depot Park

Columbia Falls — 5 to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 20, Imagine Health Wellness Center, 305  First Ave. W.

Polson — Noon to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 21, North Lake County Public Library, 2 First Ave. E.

Whitefish — Noon to 1:30 p.m., Aug. 25, Whitefish Library, 9 Spokane Ave.

Thompson Falls — Noon to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 3, Thompson Falls Senior Center, 1191 Mount Silcox Dr.

Hot Springs — 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3, Camas Hot Springs Senior Citizens Center, 101 Main St.

Libby — 5 to 6:30 p.m.., Sept. 4, The Venture Motor Inn, 1015 W. 9th St.

Eureka — noon to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 12, Glacier Bank, 222 Dewey Ave.

Climate change awards announced

Climate Smart Glacier Country announced its Climate Smart Champions during a ceremony at the Earth Day celebration April 21 in Whitefish. Awards were presented to businesses, youth and an individual who are leaders in building local solutions to climate change challenges.
