Irene May Harms, 88, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away May 28, 2014, at Life Care Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Irene was born May 17, 1926, to Otto and Elizabeth (Reynolds) Meyer, at her grandparent’s house on the Rathdrum prairie. She was raised and educated in Rathdrum, Idaho.
On September 18, 1946, Irene married Ernest G. Harms. They lived in Rathdrum until moving to the Rimrock in 1960. Irene moved in with her sister in Post Falls in 2011.
Irene was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Elizabeth; husband, Ernest; and son, Bill. She is survived by her children: daughter, Virginia Moore, of Nashville, Tenn., son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sue Harms, of Hayden, Idaho; son, Mark Harms, of Killarney Lake, Idaho; three grandsons: Todd Moore, of Avery, Idaho; Caleb Harms (Jamie), of Hayden, Idaho; and Alex Harms, of Post Falls, Idaho; great grandchildren: Margaret Moore and Adelaide Harms; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Doris Meyer, of Rathdrum; sister, Virginia Heid, of Post Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 7, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. Anyone wishing may make a donation in her name to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N.
