All polling places in Flathead County will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today for the primary election.

Area voters will decide Democratic or Republican nominees to advance to November’s general election.

Absentee ballots must be received at the county Election Department by 8 p.m. today. As of Friday, 13,355 absentee ballots had been sent out with 6,127 returned.

The Election Department is located at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. All registration and absentee ballot processes are conducted at the Country Fair Kitchen building.

People can still register to vote at the Country Fair Kitchen until 8 p.m. today.

Ballot processing and counting will be done at the Expo Building.

Twelve precincts including voters from the greater Kalispell area will vote at the Trade Center building at the fairgrounds. Those precincts include 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 25, 31, 32, 37, 41 and 50.

The county website notes that because of redistricting, voters’ precinct number may have changed.
