SANDPOINT - The minimum bid for the Idaho Club golf course and 176 undeveloped lots will be at least $1.7 million, according the Bonner County Treasurer's Office.

The 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-signature course and lots, formerly owned by Pend Oreille Bonner Development, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on Wednesday, July 9. The auction starts at 10 a.m. in the Bonner County Administration Building, located at the corner of U.S. Highway 2 and Division Avenue.

Also on the auction block July 9 are 23 lots at the Idaho Club owned by GNP-IC LLC and one lot owned by Eagle Pointe Construction & Management Inc. The minimum bids for the GNP-IC and the Eagle Pointe lots will be $238,027 and $9,762, respectively.

The minimum bids in all three auctions are expected to increase because costs of the tax sale will continue to accrue until the sale closes.

All 200 lots went to auction earlier this month because of unpaid taxes, late fees, interests and costs. Bonner County commissioners took possession of the course and lots earlier this month.

The auction's terms of sale, a property list, map, the development's conditional use permit and surety agreements can be downloaded in a portable document format by visiting the treasurer's office page on the county's website (www.co.bonner.id.us). Links to the aforementioned items can be found along the right site of the treasurer's web page.

All bidders must register with treasurer's office prior to the tax sale. The registration deadline is 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8.

Bidders will be assigned a number after supplying a name, address and phone number.

The minimum deposit for the Pend Oreille Bonner and GNP-IC parcels is $100,000. The minimum deposit for the Eagle Pointe parcel is $1,000.

The deposit is non-refundable for winning bidders and will be deducted from the winning bid. The remaining balance is due no later than 3 p.m. on July 11.

All payments, including the deposit, must be paid in the form of cash, cashier's check or a wire transfer. Arrangements for wire transfers must be made in advance through the treasurer's office.

The golf course is currently being maintained by New TIC LLC, a group with homeowner ties at the Idaho Club. Taxpayer funds and resources are not being used for its upkeep.

The Idaho Club's semi-private course is open for public play subject to greens fees.
