Free grief camp for kids offered; space available

Hospice of North Idaho has just a few spaces left for its third annual grief camp for children and teens, Camp Kaniksu.
The camp, which will take place July 11-13, is a free overnight camp for grieving children. It's open to any child or teen from 7-15 who has experienced the death of a loved one.
The three-day camp will be held at Camp Lutherhaven on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene. This experience is provided under the professional direction and supervision of counselors and trained volunteers from Hospice of North Idaho. Both structured and non-structured activities are designed to help youth recognize they are not alone in their grief and that having fun is also part of the healing process. Traditional camp experiences are combined with therapeutic activities to help bereaved children explore their grief in a safe and supportive environment.
The remaining spots for Camp Kaniksu are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in the camp should turn in an application to Hospice of North Idaho as soon as possible before June 30, 2014 and should plan on being available for a brief interview with Hospice of North Idaho staff. Hospice of North Idaho is a nonprofit hospice that was founded by volunteers in 1981. As the only community-owned hospice in the area, Hospice of North Idaho is dedicated to serving everyone regardless of their ability to pay, and its charitable mission also includes serving children and adults touched by loss.
