Twins riding six game winning streak

The Glacier Twins “A” American Legion baseball team is on a bit of a roll, having won six games in a row. On May 31 they swept the Butte Minders in a doubleheader 3-2 in the opener and 4-0 in the nightcap at home.

The next day they dropped the Rocky Mountain Bandits of Cranbrook, British Columbia, 10-0 in the opener and 11-3 in the nightcap at home.

Vincent Smith, went 2 for 3, and hammered a triple in the opener. Smith had four RBIs in that game.

Chris Joy and Jayce Fagerland had two RBIs each for the Twins.

Fagerland had the team’s other extra-base hit, a double.

Tristan Steinwand also had two hits for Glacier.

The Twins tallied six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away for an 11-3 victory in the second game.

Glacier scored in every inning but the first and fifth.

Austin Robins went 2 for 4, drove in three runs and AJ Wetsch went 2 for 3 and had two RBIs. Steinwand and Colten Parker both went 2 for 3.

Steinwand and Wetsch posted doubles.

Glacier hosted the Kalispell Lakers A on Tuesday after presstime. They play Libby June 4 and travel to Havre for a tournament this weekend.
