Whitefish smokes C-Falls in boxing ring
Whitefish Pilot | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 11 years, 1 month AGO
The Whittefish Bulldogs beat out the Columbia Falls Wildcats in the annual Cat-Dog Smoker on Monday night at Memorial Field, eight bouts to five.
Bulldog Mozi Gerber beat Brandon Shultz in the main event in a slugfest that drew the crowd out of the grandstands to gather around the ring for the final match.
One of the best matches of the night came between Emmitt Schmitt of Whitefish and Brandon Dickman of Columbia Falls. The two truly boxed in a bloody battle to the end.
The event is a fundraiser for the Glacier Twins American Legion baseball team, which features players from both communities.
The crowd was greeted with perfect weather — the event has seen rain in recent years.
