BASEBALL

Cardinals second: The Prairie Cardinals single-A American Legion team went 4-1 and took second place in the Missoula Prospects Baseball tournament last weekend.

Dalton Lozier pitched a two-hitter and Jacob Elliott singled in a run for Prairie in a 2-1 victory over the Warehouse Expos of Spokane.

Matt Lebsock had a run-scoring triple and Lozier and Elliott added RBI singles for Prairie in a 4-3 loss to the Bozeman Bruins.

Lebsock and Jarrett Plunkett each drove in three runs, and Lozier and Chaz Bailey both drove in two, as Prairie beat the Bitterroot Red Sox 15-5.

Chris Schilling threw a shutout and Elliott drove in two runs as the Cardinals blanked the Missoula Prospects 9-0.

Jared Porter drove in three runs and Plunkett, Elliott, Schilling and Tyler Utecht knocked in two runs each as Prairie beat the Round Table Saxons 16-1.

The Cardinals are 8-1 overall.

LITTLE LEAGUE

Coeur d'Alene Little League/Hayden Little League tournament

Pool standings

COEUR d'ALENE POOL - Coeur d'Alene Rays 3-0, Hayden Cardinals 2-1, Coeur d'Alene Rangers 1-2, Hayden Marlins 0-3.

HAYDEN POOL - Coeur d'Alene Tigers 2-0, Hayden Dodgers 2-1, Hayden Giants 1-2, Coeur d'Alene Indians 0-2.

Bracket play is scheduled to begin Wednesday and Thursday.

WRESTLING

Team Real Life members competed at the Idaho kids state wrestling tournament May 2-3 in Idaho Falls.

In Greco-Roman, Ridge Lovett and Jason Burchell each finished first in their divisions, Brelane Huber, Seth Martin and Wyatt Shelly were second, and Roddy Romero was third.

In freestyle, Rigde Lovett and Jason Burchell placed first, Brelane Huber and Seth Martin were second, Roddy Romero was third, and Byson Huber and Wyatt Shelly were fourth.

Coeur d'Alene Sting under-11 girls Sounders: The Sounders took second place at the Three Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell, Mont., last weekend.

The Sounders tied the Calgary SWU Gunners 4-4, and beat FC Missoula 6-0 and the Coeur d'Alene Sting Timbers 3-1, before falling in the championship game in a rematch with the Calgary SWU Gunners 4-2.

Kamryn Becker had six goals for the tournament, assisted by Olivia Wyatt on one. Dillen Duncan had three goals, assisted by Alexandra Plucker, Kamryn Becker and Kameron Fisbeck. Other scorers included Cailyn Garza with two goals, and McKenzie Mattis, Abbie Lyman (assisted by Kamryn Becker), Kameron Fisbeck and Kiley Cutler each with one goal for the tournament. Goalkeeper Alexandra Plucker had 27 saves for the tournament.

Sting U12 girls Whitecaps: The Whitecaps finished second in the U13 girls bracket last weekend at the 3 Blind Refs soccer tournament in Kalispell, Mont.

The Whitecaps beat the Missoula Strikers 7-4 in the first game, with Geneva Bengtson, Maddie Sorsabal scoring one goal each, Maddie Smith with two goals and Catherine James with three goals. Jordan Roth had 5 assists.

The Whitecaps lost to Moscow United 3-1 with the lone Whitecaps goal from Jordan Roth.

The Whitecaps beat the KEYSA Rovers 5-0 Jordan with four unsassisted goals by Julie Stith with one goal assisted by Maddie Sorsabal. Emma Ramage posted the shutout in goal.

The Whitecaps won their final game 5-0 against Lakeland Nighthawks, with one goal each by Julie Stith, Lily Foster and Liberty Croutch, and two goals by Jordan Roth. Emma Ramage and Lily Foster teamed for the shutout in goal.

The Academy Idaho U11 girls: The Academy took second in the U12 division in the 3 Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell, Mont., last weekend.

The Academy beat the U12 Rapids 8-1. Kaylee Moate scored a hat trick, Tressa Mullan added two goals, and Kendall Pickford, Sarah Hines and Lili Tweedy each had one. Hines had two assists, Pickford and Moate one each.

The Academy beat the U12 Calgary SWU Nova 4-1. Tierra Lambert, Shara Hines and Tressa Mullen each had goals.

The Academy beat the Missoula Strikers Red 2-0. Lili Tweedy scored both goals, with assists from Kendall Pickford and Sarah Hines. Sophia Morlan posted the shutout in goal.

In the championship game, the Academy in a shootout to the U12 Lakeland Nighthawks. Sarah Hines and Kaylee Moate each scored two goals, Lili Tweedy, Jade Reed, Kaylee Moate one each, and Hines and Kendall Pickford each had assists.

The Academy beat Flathead 9-0. Aiden Tweedy and Alex Moate scored twice, and Cody Carvajal, Devin Claflin, Brayson Harrington, Ethan Lawson and Braden Ferreira each scored once. Ethan Lawson, Alex Moate and Devin Claflin each had assists.

The Academy beat the Sting 7-4. Braden Ferreira scored four goals, and Devin Claflin, Aiden Tweedy and Alex Moate each scored once. Aiden Junttila, Devin Claflin and AJ Curson each had assists.

The Academy beat the Idaho Thunder 11-2. Ethan Lawson, Braden Ferreira, Cody Carvajal and Brayson Harrington each scored twice, and Isaak Ballew, Devin Claflin and Caden McLean each scored once.

In the championship game, the Academy beat the Lakeland Nighthawks 8-2. Braden Ferreira scored a hat trick, and Aiden Tweety, Cody Carvajal, Ethan Lawson, AJ Curson and Alex Moate each scored once. Aiden Junttila, Andrew Ferreira and Devin Claflin each had assists.

Idaho Thunder U15 girls: The Thunder won its division at last weekend's 3 Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell, Mont.

The Thunder beat the KEYSA Rovers 7-0, the Flathead Rapids 4-1, the Idaho Thunder Tanner 6-0 and, in the championship game, the Sting Roma 3-0.

Thunder goals were scored by Baili Martin, Isis Rich, Whitnee Skalskiy, Melodee Skalskiy, Cierra Foster, Cheyenne Kleiner and Hannah Johnson, and assists were made by Cheyenne Kleiner, Lily LIttle, Dani Dowd, Cierra Foster, Hannah Johnson, Isis Rich and Whitnee Skaliskiy. Goalkeeper Dani Dowd had three shutouts.

Idaho Thunder U12 boys Halseth: The Thunder won its division at the 3 Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell, Mont., last weekend.

The Thunder lost its opener 5-2 to the Missoula Strikers Black, on goals by Josh Brisendine and Jalen Skalisky.

The Thunder won its second game 8-2. Cameron Calabretto scored four goals, Ben Blakely two, and Josh Brisendine and Tristan Delbridge each scored one.

The Thunder beat the Sandpoint Strikers 3-0 as Josh Brisendine, Cameron Calabretto and Tristan Delbridge each scored once. Max Smith had the shutout in goal.

In the championship game the Thunder avenged an earlier loss to the Missoula Strikers Black, winning 3-2 in a shootout. Smith had two saves in the shootout.

Lakeland Nighthawks U11 boys: The Nighthawks finished second in the A division at the 3 Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell, Mont.

On Saturday, the Nighthawks beat the Calgary Blizzard Milano 10-3 at the Kidsport Complex. Dawson Marsh, Ammon Munyer and Brody Singer each scored twice for the Nighthawks, and Tanner Larson, Matt Foley, Nicki Zubaly and Josiah Shields each scored once.

Later that day, the Nighthawks beat the Idaho Thunder 6-0. Brody Singer scored two goals and Dawson Marsh, Ammon Munyer, Josiah Shields and Nicki Zubaly each scored once. Marsh and Singer teamed for the shutout in goal.

In the semifinals on Sunday, the Nighthawks beat the Sting Newcastle 3-2.

In the championship game, the Nighthawks lost 8-2 to The Academy. Josiah Shields and Brody Singer each scored once for the Nighthawks.

Sting U14 girls Real Madrid: The Sting went 4-0 and won the championship at the 3 Blind Refs tournament last weekend in Kalispell, Mont.

Over the weekend, Kendall Cozad scored four goals, one on a penalty kick, Colby Cosgrove scored 1 goal, Lauryn Trueblood capitalized on a corner kick sent by Taylor Pickford, and Taylor Pickford scored a total of four goals, with a hat trick during the final game.

The Real Madrid defense comprised of Emily Nicklay, Shayla Anderson, Ryanne Payton, Marley Cowin and goalkeeper Maggie Davies held off their opponents to two goals during the tournament, including three shutouts.

BASKETBALL

Lakeland girls camp: The Lady Hawk Basketball camp, for girls entering grades 4-9, is scheduled for June 16-19 from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Lakeland High School and Lakeland Junior High.

Lakeland High girls basketball coach Steve Seymour and assistant Deana Lange head the instructional staff, which also includes current Lakeland players.

Cost is $50, which includes a basketball and camp T-shirt.

Registration deadline is June 11. Girls can also sign up the first day of camp.

Post Falls girls camp: Post Falls High girls basketball coach Marc Allert heads the instructional staff for the Post Falls Lady Trojan Girls Youth Basketball Camp, for girls entering grades 3-8, scheduled for June 23-26 from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Post Falls Middle School.

Cost is $75 per person, $110 for two children in a family, or $140 for a family of three or more.

Free camp nears: A free baseball/softball camp for boys and girls age 6-12, conducted by area coaches and put on by the Coeur d'Alene Association of Realtors, is scheduled for June 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene High School baseball field.

The camp is limited to 75 kids.
