Tracy lassos double victory

Ryanne Tracy of Victor posted the best times in two timed events Thursday at the Montana High School Rodeo Finals at Majestic Valley Arena.

Tracy was clocked in 8 seconds in goat tying and 2.35 seconds in breakaway roping.

Nichole Lake of Polson was a close second in both events with times of 8.06 and 2.48, respectively.

Abby Knight of Charlo had the second best go in pole bending with her time of 21.11. Mikayla Fuller of Bozeman leads with a 20.96.

In tie-down roping, Trevin Baumann of Hardin was the only cowboy to break 10 seconds with his 9.76 go.

Paige Moore of Rosebud is the first-day leader in barrel racing with her 15.79 time.

Celie Salmond of Choteau and Bryer Davis of Sand Coulee lead the team roping with a 6.43 run. Carson King of Dillon and Wyatt Lytton of Polson are third, 9.79.

Today’s action will start with the timed events from 9-11 a.m. and a night performance that begins at 6.

The rodeo runs through Sunday.

The top four qualify for the National High School Rodeo Finals to be held in Rock Springs, Wyo., July 13-19.
