Warden girl qualifies for national rodeo

WARDEN - Aubree Skone, a talented barrel racer from Warden, will be competing in the largest junior high rodeo.
Skone, a seventh grader at Warden Middle School, earned a position on the Washington state/provincial National Junior High rodeo team.
She will be traveling with her teammates to Des Moines, Iowa, June 22-28 to compete at the 10th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) in the barrel racing event.
The NJHFR features roughly 1,000 contestants from 42 states, five Canadian provinces and Australia.
Contestants will have the opportunity to compete for more than $75,000 in prizes as well as more then $100,000 in college scholarships.
Skone will have to finish in the top 20 of her first two rounds to advance to the final round on June 28 for a chance to be named national champion.
The Championship performances on June 28 will be televised nationally on RFD-TV. Each NJHFR performance will also air online at NHSRATV.com.
