Legion baseball: Lakers drop Mavs; Twins' win streak at 12

Kalispell used two big innings to drop the Missoula Mavs 7-2 in Class AA American Legion baseball play Sunday afternoon at Griffin Field.
The Lakers pushed three runs across the plate in the first inning and tallied four runs in the fourth.
Justin Wallace pitched eight innings for the Lakers. He gave up 11 hits, but also struck out as many batters.
Walker Malmin and Jake Barstow both went 3 for 4 for the Lakers. Malmin doubled for the game’s only extra-base hit.
Justin Rich drove in two runs for Kalispell.

HAVRE — The Glacier Twins posted two more victories to push their win streak to 12 games on the final day of the Havre North Stars Tournament.
Glacier topped the Royals 8-2 and then defeated the Glasgow Reds 4-2.
Colten Gove had three hits and Jayce Fagerland two in the outing with the Reds.
Gove doubled and tripled in that one.
Glacier tallied five runs in the fifth inning against the Royals to take command.
Fagerland, 3 for 4, had two RBIs. Jesse Walburn, 2 for 2, drove in three runs.
The Twins were 4-0 in tournament play.

Loggers sweep Lakers
LIBBY — Libby rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the opening game of a Class A doubleheader with Kalispell, 5-4.
The Loggers followed that by scoring seven runs in the first three innings en route to an 8-4 win in the second contest.
Libby’s Luke Haggerty, 3 for 4, had three RBIs in the finale. Will Reichel had two hits and drove in one run.
Lukas Decock and Pat O’Connell both went 2 for 3 for the Lakers. O’Connell had three RBIs.
In the opener, Haggerty, Reichel, Oliver Grupenhoff and Dylon Lane had two hits each for Libby.
Leif Erickson, Chris Corpron and Keiton Mohl had two hits each for Kalispell.

Mavs take two from M’s
MISSOULA — Missoula held on to defeat the Mission Valley Mariners twice in Class A doubleheader action.
Mission Valley closed to within one with a three-run sixth inning, but could get no closer in dropping the opener 5-4.
Most of the scoring in the second game came in the first inning with Missoula up 6-3. The Mavs went on to claim a 7-5 victory.
In that game, Zeke Webster-Yaqui and Jacob Harrod both went 2 for 3 while Bradley Pichler had two hits in four plate appearances for Mission Valley. Webster-Yaqui and Bransen Krebs both were 2 for 3 in the first game.
