People will be offered reduced-price health screenings Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sykes’ Pharmacy in Kalispell.
The health screenings are offered by Sykes’ pharmacists and University of Montana pharmacy students.
Kristen Hamm, a fourth-year pharmacy student interning at Sykes’, said the screenings will be a cheap way to monitor health.
“Everybody is invited to get in charge of their health,” Hamm said.
The screenings, part of the University of Montana IPHARM (Improving health among rural Montanans) program, offer free blood pressure exams plus tests to monitor bone density, blood lipids and cholesterol.
Each test costs $15. People taking the cholesterol test need to fast for nine to 12 hours and drink at least 16 ounces of water before testing.
“This is geared for seniors, but everybody is welcome,” Hamm said. “The more the merrier.”
Several tables will be available in the pharmacy and diner for the tests. Call Hamm at 257-4806 for more information.
