As water recedes, two local fishing sites reopen

The Old Steel Bridge and Kokanee Bend fishing access sites on the Flathead River have been reopened.

They had been closed due to flooding but river levels have receded.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks continues to urge caution for people venturing on or near rivers during high water.

Climate change awards announced

Climate Smart Glacier Country announced its Climate Smart Champions during a ceremony at the Earth Day celebration April 21 in Whitefish. Awards were presented to businesses, youth and an individual who are leaders in building local solutions to climate change challenges.
