Fourth grade teacher Mary Lloyd reacts to a surprise retirement party with her students on Wednesday, June 11, at Hedges School in Kalispell. The students presented her with a Number One Teacher sash, a paper crown, paper flowers and a book in which they had each written letters for her. The letters were laminated and bound by Amber Reiner whose son is a part of Lloyd's final class. Lloyd spent a total of 17 years at Hedges including her work as a title tutor, her student teaching and then running her own classroom. Wednesday was the last day of classes for Kalispell schools.
